BIA is Beautifying Belhaven!
Thanks to ALL the volunteers who came out to help with the first in a series of neighborhood clean-up events on Saturday morning, June 28! Fueled by coffee, juice and Krispy Kremes, several dozen folks tackled litter on Laurel, bamboo on Greymont, and grass growing in gutters at corners throughout the southeast quadrant of Belhaven. Thanks also to Belhaven College and its security chief Steve Farmer for the use of their parking lot, to Vernon Hartley and his crew from the City's solid waste division, and to the hardworking clean-up committee (headed by BIA president David Turner) who helped organize this event. The next clean up day will be Saturday August 2 - mark your calendars and come on out to pick up and pitch in! Bring a friend, a new neighbor, and your work gloves! Look for a postcard with details.
