Welcome to the Greater Belhaven Neighborhood Foundation website!

Jackson is a travel destination - especially the Greater Belhaven Neighborhood!

The Atlanta Journal Constitution has a wonderful article on Jackson that’s really almost 100% about Belhaven! It mentions the upcoming festival, the Welty House, Fairview Inn, Pizza Shack and the Farmer’s Market. Click here to read the article.

Click here to see the 2010 Bright Lights, Belhaven Nights signature painting by David Lambert.  Click here to read more about David Lambert and this year's painting.

The Market is open for business!  The Mississippi Farmers Market and The Greater Belhaven Market have come together to combine the dynamics of Jackson’s two largest inner city Farmers Markets at one location where they offer customers a one stop shop for the freshest, high quality Mississippi produced products. The MS Farmers Market is located at 929 High Street, adjacent to the Fairgrounds. Market hours are Tuesdays, Thursday’s and Saturday’s from 8am to 2pm.

Click here to find out more about the Farmers Market.

Save the date!  Bright Lights, Belhaven Nights 2010 is August 14th!

The Greater Belhaven Neighborhood Foundation's annual street festival, Bright Lights, Belhaven Nights is a great night of music, children's activities, food and fun.  Make plans to meet your neighbors and friends at Greater Belhaven's end-of-summer party.  Click here to read more about the festival, sponsors, and music lineup! To volunteer, contact Laura Wofford.

Go online to the MPB Radio page or download a podcast of the "Mississippi Arts Hour," hosted by Mississippi Arts Commission staff, to listen to a show with David Lambert, featured artist for 2010’s Bright Lights, Belhaven Nights festival slated for Saturday, Aug. 14 and Vidal Blankenstein, featured artist for the 2008 Bright Lights festival. They’ll talk about their art and also about this year’s festival. The "Mississippi Arts Hour" features interviews with Mississippi artists, musicians, craftspeople and others involved in arts and culture from around the state.

Belhaven Park is a Winner!

The Belhaven Park project won a Preservation Award from the Jackson Historic Preservation Commission.  The award was presented to Greater Belhaven Neighborhood Foundation Chair, Marsha Cannon at an awards reception on May 13, 2010 at the King Edward Hotel. The awards acknowledge projects that foster civic pride through preservation projects.
