About Being A Vendor

• We began our venture with the MS Farmers at our new location on High Street on October 24, 2009.  This Market Season will run through December 19, 2009. Hours are 8am to 2pm.  Building opens at 7am
• Booth fees are $10 per Saturday (other days of participation are possible during certain seasons)
• Vendors will be responsible for paying their own sales tax
• Vendors are responsible for their own table, chairs and displays

• MS Farmers Market regulations parallel what is currently in place for The Greater Belhaven Market.

Action Needed:

Complete the appropriate vendor application (link at right), include 2 pictures of of your product and return to 954 E. Fortification St., Jackson, MS  39202. Once the certification process has been completed, you will be contacted.

Tips

• Customer service is crucial.  People want to be treated well, regardless of where they are shopping.  Strive to be that Market vendor known for friendliness and helpfulness.
• Always have an organized and pleasant Market booth. Shoppers will enjoy visiting your booth if your merchandise is displayed nicely.
• Be positive. Shoppers want to buy from positive sellers. Shopping at the Market is supposed to be fun, make it fun for your customers.
• Introduce a variety of items.  If shoppers know that you always have a nice variety of products at your Market booth, they will come to you first to see what new products you have.  
• Get to know your customers and have fun!  And…hopefully make a profit in the process.

Other Ideas:

•        Rearrange the items in your booth for a new look
•        Change or rotate your table cloths
•        Add seasonal decorations to your booth
